ABOUT

Rachel Jernigan is an artist living and working in Kent, Ohio. She studied Ceramics at Kent State University’s School of Art. When working in ceramics was no longer practical, living in small rental spaces, she took up painting.

Rachel's work is inspired by the color schemes and patterns of her childhood and early life, giving them a nostalgic quality. Her designs are simple and resemble the silk screening process. Her subject matter ranges from the figure to animals to landscape to simple pattern and geometry.

Rachel's work is meant to be accessible to all. She hopes to evoke a memory of innocence with just a twist of the knowledge that innocence is lost and never retrieved.
